I hate to sell this guitar, but I can no longer afford all the guitars and amplifiers I have collected over the years. The finish is withou any cracks, checkering or significant scratches73 GRETSCH SUPER CHET, Super Chet It has two great filtron 2 Pickups, 5 knobs on pickguard,abalone-tailpiece inlay, and fancy abalone inlay on fingerboard and peghead is in excellent condition all though the frets show it was played often, but still have lots of time left. It also has a zerofret. The gold-plated hardware shows its age but adds really some nice patina to the guitar. The Gretsch Super Chet is a very special guitar thatwas made from 1972 to 1980 and they are quite rare. There were severalvariations. The 1972 model had a headstock shaped much like a Gibson but waslater changed to the "round-top" headstock that is common to Gretschguitars. Chet Atkins was pictured on the cover of one of his albums with a 1972Super Chet showing this variation. The usual finish was a"cherry-red" finish, The standard tailpiece had beautiful inlayand is a similar shaped tailpiece that was used in the late 1970-s and 80's onthe Gretsch Country Club. By the way, all the hardware was real gold plating-not the cheap brass or alloy plating seen on guitars now. I consider the Super Chet the finest Gretsch Hollow Body Electric ever made. Ifyou have one that is original and in better than good condition, please takeprecious care of it because you have a gem that will not be easily replaced.Condition: G00d+ (Used)Brand: GretschModel: 7690 Super ChetFinish: Cherry RedCategories: ArchtopHollow BodyYear 1973Made In: United StatesBody Material: MapleNeck Construction: Set-NeckBody Type: Hollow BodyBody Shape : Double CutawayRight / Left Handed: Right-HandedNumber of Strings 6 Strings Neck Materia: MapleWood Top Style: PlainColor Family: Autum RedFinish Style: Gloss Pickup Configuration; HHBridge/Tailpiece Type Fretboard Material : EbonyScale Length : 24.5"Number of Frets: 22Autumn Red, 1 3/4" width at the nut,
