WHAT DOES A COMPUTER ASSISTANT SCHEDULER DO? As a Computer Assistant Scheduler you will be responsible for preparing and monitoring short and long range machine allocations and schedules for a variety of multi-programming computer systems. In this role, you will be involved in the coordination, control, scheduling, and direct operational support for computer systems. You will devise solutions to conventional problems which are not usually covered by established procedures. As a Computer Assistant Scheduler you will:
Plan, schedule, and control the processing of tax data on major corporate and departmental computer systems. Analyze and evaluate requirements for computer processing by identifying work flow and sequence equipment and capacity requirements, and job interrelationships. Review system reports and logs to identify scheduling conflicts, processing problems, or job failures and determine corrective actions. Ensure correct restoration of data files and data bases at the proper restart point. Receive program additions and changes from programmers and various external sources. Evaluate system change requests to determine modifications to existing set-ups, schedules, run streams, and dependencies with other systems and programs. You must have 1 year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:
Experience using data processing rules, operating procedures and processing methods, system control language, and methods for defining and retrieving non-standard data and reports; Experience working with the features, characteristics, and interrelationships of computer equipment, internal computer processes, applications and utility programs, and magnetic media to assist in identifying problems; Experience using general diagnostic methods, procedures, and principles to identify required actions; Experience working with data content and output options used in coding, developing control streams and schedules for dependent and interdependent programs, in order to identify problems.GS-08 LEVEL:
You must have 1 year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:
Experience working with the features, characteristics, and interrelationships of multiple types of computer equipment, internal computer processes, applications and utility programs, and magnetic media; Experience using wide range of analytical and diagnostic methods, procedures, and principles to identify required actions and implement decisions; Experience working with data content and output options used in coding, developing control streams and schedules for independent and interdependent programs, or multi-program operating systems.GS-09 LEVEL:
You must have 1 year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-08 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:
Experience working with the features, characteristics, and interrelationships of multiple types of computer equipment, internal computer processes, applications and utility programs, and magnetic media; Experience using a wide range of analytical and diagnostic methods and procedures to identify required actions and implement decisions; Experience working with data content and output options used in coding, developing control streams and schedules for independent and interdependent programs, or multi-program operating systems; Experience analyzing data to identify problems encountered on major computer systems and the hardware/software programs monitored and experience in coordination, control, scheduling, and direct operational support for several large capacity computer systems.-The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector or Volunteer Service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.-To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week, on your resume. You must have been at the next lower grade level of the grade you are applying to for 52 weeks (time-in-grade requirement).

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
