WHAT DOES A LEAD CLERK DO? As a Lead Clerk/Assistant you will serve as a work leader over employees engaged in accomplishing clerical/assistant work, as well as, performing the full range of duties for the journey level. In this position, you will influence and motivate individuals toward mutual goals in a basically cooperative environment, gather and provide information and resolve issues by persuading the compliance of laws or regulations. As a Lead Clerk you will:
Distribute, balance, monitor and report on workload in accordance with established workflow or job specialization. Amend or reject work not meeting established standards and refer to supervisor any problems on meeting performance standards. Answer questions and provide both classroom and OJT instruction to employees. Report on performance, progress and training needs of employees and on disciplinary problems. You must have 1 year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-5 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:
knowledge of administrative and clerical work processes, procedures, and relative rules, regulations, and other guidelines specific to the position and business operations. If applying for a Lead position, your experience must be sufficient to demonstrate knowledge of the organizational functions, terminology, quality assurance techniques, and reporting requirements sufficient to coordinate the flow of work within the assigned area.-The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector or Volunteer Service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.-To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week, on your resume.You must have been at the GS-05 level for 52 weeks (time-in-grade requirement).

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
