Chemical Applicator - Parks/Cemetery
Rate of Pay:
$12.00 to $13.50 per hour. Depending on experience.
Minimum Age Requirement:
Must be at least 17 years of age.
Dates of Employment:
April 1st through October 31st approximately (weather and worload permitting).
Minimum
Qualifications:
MUST HAVE A VALID UTAH DRIVER'S LICENSE. Must have a current, valid Utah Pesticide Application License Category 3 turf and Ornamental; with a minimum of six (6) months of chemical application experience preferred. Must be at least 17 years of age. Must have a good working knowledge of chemicals and their individual uses; must know and understand proper procedures in handling, mixing and applications of all herbicides and pesticides used by the Parks Division; must be familiar with OSHA and EPA chemical handling and storage requirements.
Physical Requirements:
Include but are not limited to prolonged standing, walking, sitting, climbing, stooping, kneeling, and crawling. Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds. Must be able to see and hear. Will be required to work in inclement weather conditions.
Essential Functions:
Works under general supervision of the Parks Area Maintenance Supervisor, Parks Area Maintenance Crew Leader or Urban Forester; has the responsibility of applying herbicides and pesticides to city parks and city property as determined by the Parks Maintenance Supervisor, Parks Area Crew Leader or Urban Forester; will be solely responsible for recording and maintaining records and journals on all chemical projects and work performed to meet State and City requirements; responsible for other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Criminal History Check:
Successful applicant must pass background check.
Driver License Report (MVR):
Driver License Report (MVR) will be obtained by the Human Resources Division if applicable.
