# Asphalt Plant Operator
# Summary
This is a skilled position controlling production and load out of materials produced in plants. The plant operator is responsible for the efficient working condition of plant equipment and is expected to perform minor servicing and maintenance or refer major problems to the supervisor.
# Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Reads work schedules and determines sequence of operations.
Operates plant according to production schedule using appropriate materials.
Monitor asphalt operation to ensure quality of mix.
Performs basic maintenance and service on asphalt plant as required.
Must able to weld using an arc welder or cutting torch.
Cleans control house and yard facility daily.
Operates truck scales and oversees the loading of the trucks.
Prints load tickets for customers.
Enters production information into computer systems.
Must supply own tools.
Other duties as assigned per supervisor.

# _Education and/or Experience_
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; and two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
# _Language Skills_
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
# _Mathematical Skills_
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
# _Computer Skills_
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Inventory and Order processing systems; uses CDI system for ticketing and Nextel phone for communications.
# _Certificates, Licenses, Registrations_
Drivers License required. CDL a plus.
