I. Position Objective To repair or replace all assigned windshields or other automotive glass according to written repair order.
II. Job Duties and Responsibilities Review each work order and the CSM or CSR's notes to understand the repairs needed prior to beginning work. All repairs or replacements must be completed according to the documentation on the work order. Complete a parts review for accuracy prior to beginning repairs. Notify the CSM or CSR of any incorrect or damaged parts. Greet customer in a courteous manner. Walk around vehicle with customer to identify the proper vehicle is on the work order. Identify any possible problems on vehicle such as rust and/or vehicle damage and disclose to insured. Make notes of any problems on work order. Perform all repair procedures according to vehicle manufacturer specifications and/or company policy. Use proper safety guidelines when working with hazardous materials. Use all adhesives and their primers in accordance with the adhesive manufacturer guidelines and/or company policy. Document all or any conditions that may affect the windshield installation such as rust or previous body damage. This includes notifying customer of any problems and giving explanation of such. Complete assembly of vehicle to vehicle manufacturer specifications and company policies. Clean vehicle of all debris and/or glass that may be a result of the glass being damaged by impact and/or repair process. Includes cleaning any excess materials on visible surfaces. Perform a final inspection with the customer and get customer's signature on all paperwork if possible. Fill out all assigned paperwork as required including notes on moldings used or not used. Comply with all ABRA Auto Body & Glass safety procedures and guidelines. Follow all recommended procedures for care and maintenance of all equipment. Maintain a clean and organized work area. This may be either a mobile van or a repair center environment. Refer to ABRA Auto Body & Glass Technical Repair Process for procedures and explanations. All other duties as assigned Due to the fact that repair centers and other departments operate at different sales and staffing levels, employees may be responsible to perform other miscellaneous duties as instructed by their supervisor.
III. Accountabilities Maintain a 100% quality rate (0% Quality Control) Maintain a labor efficiency rate as to hours worked. Work with team members to achieve customer satisfaction. Maintain a clean valid driver's license. IV. Working Conditions Periodic lifting and carrying of objects weighing over 50 pounds. Extended periods of bending, standing and stooping to perform repairs. May be exposed to repetitive tasks involving hand and arm motions. May be involved in doing repairs in inclement weather. Will be working with forms of hazardous materials. Safety equipment is provided along with training of proper use and handling. All team members are required to comply with all safety programs and wear protective equipment provided. V. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of manufacturers repair and replacement processes. Knowledge of ABRA Auto Body & Glass repair processes Ability to use adhesive in accordance with adhesive manufacturers specifications. Ability to use appropriate vendor materials efficiently and cost effectively. VI. Education and Training
High School Diploma or equivalent knowledge NGA Certified I-CAR Glass Replacement Adhesive certification ABRA Auto Body & Glass Qualified Demonstrated commitment to continued education.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
