GBSD Facilities Engineer Engineering - Ogden, UT at Geebo

GBSD Facilities Engineer

Company Name:
BAE Systems
The ICBM System Program Office Futures Division is beginning the
acquisition of an Intercontinental Ballistic Missile system to replace the
Minuteman III starting in the late 2020s. A recently completed analysis
of alternatives for the new Ground Based Strategic Deterrent
(GBSD) specified the reutilization of large portions of the facilities
infrastructure used in the Minuteman III system. Built in the early 1960s,
many of these facilities are in a degraded condition and will require extensive
refurbishment and modernization to support the GBSD system into the 2075
timeframe. Additionally, GBSD will require modernization of ground
support equipment to meet new system specifications and enable operations well
into the future.
This position will directly support the ICBM infrastructure
engineering assessment and restoration/modernization project development and
execution for GBSD. The incumbent will provide expert advice and support
to ICBM Futures Division leaders on all aspects of restoration and equipment
modernization efforts at these facilities in support of GBSD operations
beginning in approximately 2027 and continuing 40
years. Specifically,
this BAE Systems team leader will be responsible for supporting
formulation and execution of a detailed assessment of current Minuteman
III ICBM Launch Facility and Missile Alert Facility infrastructure condition
and configuration. They will then assist the government in analyzing this
information to create requirements and support restoration and modernization
activities at operational facilities. They will also support development
and deployment of ground support equipment modernization efforts designed to
meet GBSD requirements and timelines.
The position is being filled as a part of the Future ICBM
Sustainment and Acquisition Construct (FISAC) under which BAE Systems augments
organic government resources by providing breadth and depth of capabilities for
system engineering and integration, risk management, technical assessment,
acquisition program management, strategy development, organization and change
management, interface with operations and logistics, business analysis, mission
effectiveness, and ICBM Demonstration / Validation (Dem/Val) Integrated
Applications Programs. The location is Hill AFB, UT.
