Job Description
Primary systems engineer responsible for executing the A-10 Mechanical Equipment and Subsystems Integrity Program (MECSIP) Master Plan. This engineer will support the A-10 System Program Office. Coordination with government mechanical engineers and contractors will be required. This position will be responsible for research and analysis that results in categorizing A-10 components as safety critical, mission critical, durability critical and durability non-critical in accordance with MIL-STD-1798. Conduct engineering analysis of aircraft systems and components to determine criticality. Develop Engineering Change Orders (EOs) to engineering drawings that identified critical characteristics and critical processes as well as integrating a unique identification (UID) mark in accordance with MIL-STD-130N. Update/create Failure Mode, Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) for aircraft components. Coordinate with government engineers and analysts. Perform reliability and system engineering analysis on aircraft systems.
Education/
Experience: A Master''s of Science degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering or a Bachelor''s Degree in the same fields with a minimum of two years experience is required.
Desired:
- Experience supporting USAF aircraft sustainment.
- Experience drafting EOs to engineering drawings.
- Experience with the A-10 or other fighter type aircraft, systems and their operation.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Desired:
- Familiarity with USAF maintenance databases.
- Familiarity with hazard risk analysis and the ability to conduct a failure modes and effects analysis.
- Working knowledge of report writing/editing; create briefing material; schedule/coordinate meetings and conferences; track deliverables; prepare monthly status reports for Program Management review and approval; prepare and construct Integrated Master schedules (IMS) for all assigned taskings utilizing Microsoft Project.
- Working knowledge of finite element analysis and computer aided design.
- Candidates should be able to communicate clearly in written and oral presentations.
