Internship Coordinator

The department of Health Promotion and Human Performance is seeking a self-motivated, positively minded, effective and organized, and team-oriented individual with excellent customer service skills to coordinate, implement, organize, and balance daily operations and office functions of the departmental office related to internships, cooperative work experiences, and clinical sites. The individual will work professionally as a team member with department faculty, students, student workers, and exempt and non-exempt staff co-workers with little or no instruction. Responding to requests in a timely manner with appropriate priority and with professional communication, as well as, balancing deadlines and organizing daily workload is essential. The internship coordinator reports to and is supervised by the department chair.
This is a temporary 11 month position with the possibility of continuation. Temporary appointments are renewed/continued at the sole discretion of the university.
Minimum Requirements:
-Bachelor's of Science degree in health promotion, human performance management, or Athletic Training (or closely related field). Candidates with a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources will be considered if they have a background in Health Care.
-1 to 2 years related experience.
-Strong computer skills with proficiency in MS Word and Excel, as well as experience building, tracking, and maintaining data using database systems.
-Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills are needed.
-The successful candidate must possess the ability to manage projects efficiently and effectively to meet deadlines with quality and work ethic.
Preferred
Qualifications:
-Master's degree in Athletic Training, Health Promotion, Exercise Science, Human Performance Management, or similar fields. Educational and/or professional experience background in departmental fields. Familiarity with the HPHP department and it's various programs, as well as, the local cities and counties and the internship opportunities therein. Previous experience in higher education assisting faculty, staff, students and administrators is preferred.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
