Part Time Overview:
Under the close supervision of the County Assessor, or designated administrator, serve as a customer service representative assisting customers in person, over the phone and via email.
Collects the tax due on taxable tangible personal property in Weber County.
YOUR
Responsibilities:
Field and direct all phone calls to the appropriate appraiser or office.
Take payments in person and by telephone.
Communicate with customers through written correspondence and by telephone.
Perform data entry and scan documents.
Aid the personal property division by assisting customers with filing personal property signed statements; determine proper classification, and valuation of all types of tangible assets.
Assist in collection efforts of delinquent personal property tax.
Verify business and mobile home account information is accurate.
Assist with fieldwork as needed.
Assist customers in applying for motor vehicle refunds.
Assist with review of physical characteristics of real property as needed.
Understand and comply with all Utah laws regarding ad valorem personal property.
Perform other duties as assigned.
ABOUT YOU:
Education:
High school graduate or equivalent.
Experience:
Some general office experience and cash handling skills preferred.
YOUR SPECIAL
Qualifications:
Must possess a valid Utah Driver License (or the ability to obtain one) as well as a good driving record, and at least the minimum level of auto insurance as dictated by Utah law.
Must have the ability to communicate effectively with various types of people (bilingual preferred but not required).
