Tear A Part is a self-service auto recycling facility, where tinkerers, mechanics and the public can shop for used auto parts.
We are currently seeking motivated Processing Technicians! As a Processing Tech, you are responsible for recovering valued commodities from end-of-life vehicles.
You will also be responsible for processing all incoming vehicles by draining fluids, removing hazardous and electrical components, and gathering valued parts before disposal.
Job Duties:
Recover Commodities (Aluminum, Copper wire, Engine Accessories, Tires, etc.
) from vehicles in a safe and efficient manner Process incoming vehicles in vehicle bays by assisting with tires, removing hazardous and electrical components along with vehicle debris, draining fluids, and all other tasks assigned Operate yard equipment such as forklifts, sweepers, loaders, etc.
as needed Use power tools when necessary Complete safety inspections and ensure that safety procedures are always met - reporting all incidents or deficiencies to management immediately Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment Must keep shop and work area clean and safe Must always be punctual and detail oriented And other assignments as needed Physical Requirements:
Standing for long period of time Bending, lifting, pushing, twisting, stooping, and pulling up to 75 pounds repeatedly Must be able to lift at least 75 pounds Handle heavy machinery and vehicles with PPE Will work in extreme weather conditions (Heat or Cold)
Experience:
High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate) Prefer 1-2 years mechanic/automotive experience Experience with power tools and general shop equipment is a must Ability to work safely in the yard Pace and Scheduling:
Time sensitive Fast-paced, manual labor-intensive environment Must be able to work some weekends/holidays Occasional overtime required Work Attire:
Company Provided Uniform (Coveralls, Hard Hat, Safety Vest, other PPE) Must wear steel toed boots Any hats worn must be company provided with company logo No torn or worn-out pants/jeans No gauges or face piercings Good personal hygiene
