The Circulation Specialist provides high quality customer service to the campus community by facilitating the usage of the Librarys collections as well as supervising and aiding in the professional development of a team of student employees.
This includes but is not limited to Oversight of building security and safety issues and management of building facility issues during acting supervisor shifts.
Training hiring and supervision of student assistants and assisting with professional development opportunities.
The implementation management and assessment of assigned special department projects.
Coordinating with department peers and supervisor on the following stacks management inventory equipmenttechnology lending student employee training and retention customer service standards and collaborative projects with other library and university departments.
Maintaining private and sensitive information and executing a high level of discretion and judgment.
Assisting library users and providing resolutions for customer service and circulation issues.
This position will support the ReferenceCirculation desk at the WSU Davis Campus Library as needed.
Some Circulation Specialists work primarily weekend andor evening hours all Circulation Specialists are required to work a rotating oncall weekend schedule.
Required Qualifications Associates degree or equivalent One year related customer service andor other public facing work experience.
Experience working with computer systems and standard office software tools email Word Excel etc.
A valid Utah drivers license is a condition of employment.
Preferred Qualifications Competence with Zoom and other online meeting tools.
Excellent interpersonal oral and written communication skills as well as an understanding of cultural differences.
Demonstrates and supports a culture of diversity equity and inclusion.
High level of professional judgment confidentiality and problemsolving skills.
Proven ability to prioritize varied responsibilities multitask and meet deadlines.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
Three years of customer service supervisory andor other public facing work experience.
