Designs components or portions of a system of components to develop or improve existing products while reducing cost, enhancing performance, or facilitating manufacturing operations. Develops product or system layouts, drawings and schematics using computer-aided design tools and provides related technical support and coordination. This position reports to the Division Supplier Quality Manager and is an integral member of a cross-functional Supplier Development team that will utilize the Advanced Product Quality Planning - Production Part Approval Process (APQP-PPAP) methodology to assess Supplier processes identifying risks and working with the supplier to mitigate those risks. Risk mitigation will utilize lean manufacturing, error proofing and continuous improvement initiatives to support the supply base in the development of robust processes that assures quality products and services.
Essential Functions:
Assess quality performance using auditing, statistical and analytical methods for inspecting, testing and evaluating the capability, and accuracy of products and processes. Utilizing the results of the assessments to support the OSV program to improve the overall efficiency and product quality of processes capable of fulfilling all requirements, as determined by the organization. Support the development of advanced quality systems and procedures, quality performance trends, statistical plans and technical quality plans. Provide input on quality to product development teams, recommending productivity improvements by facilitating process reviews. Identify quality performance, trends and corrective action by coordinating with internal customers and suppliers. Develop statistical process controls by applying and maintaining applicable control charts. Analyze data by completing normal distribution, and process capability studies. Participating in failure analysis and corrective action investigations. Maintain technical and professional knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing publications, maintaining American Society of Quality certification, and benchmarking state-of-the-art practices.
Qualifications:
B.A. /B.S. degree in a related technical or business discipline or equivalent, professional level experience of six or more years and demonstrated ability to perform the described role and responsibilities and obtain the desired results. Certification or a professional designation in a specialty area may be required or preferred depending on position requirements. RAB or ASQ Auditor certification and auditing experience preferred Excellent communication skills Good project management and decision-making skills. Familiarity with the ISO 9001 and AS9100 Quality System and structure highly preferred Thorough knowledge the AS9162 - Aerospace Operator Self-Verification Programs specification desired. Demonstrated teamwork and team building skills in producing results and meeting organizational objectives. Capable of assessing and developing individual and team skills and capabilities. Able to create and maintain enthusiasm for new and challenging goals. Serve as a role model by promoting new ideas and positive change.
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
Quality Management, Design & UXEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
