I.T. SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR

Performs professional and administrative systems programming work involving the implementation and maintenance of the network operating systems and data on all District servers and networks.
Performs complex technical programming and systems analysis work.
Maintains and upgrades existing systems.
Responsible for operation and integrity of assigned systems and equipment servers networks etc.
including maintenance modification and upgrading of existing systems.
Installs and maintains servers and operating systems.
Installs and maintains server and client network software.
Evaluate and recommend improvements for network servers and operating systems.
Assesses needs and develops software and equipment solutions as required by users interviews determines requirements makes notes designs hardware and software solutions to accommodate needs.
Makes peripheral configuration changes terminals PCs printers etc.

Controls user access.
Determines access level by conferring with management staff.
Configures system to accommodate appropriate access.
Assists userclients with more complex hardware and software.
Responsible for design implementation and oversight of security procedures policies and software.
Coordinates and maintains control of backup policies procedures setups verifications and implementations and assures integrity and safety of data.
Monitors effective and efficient operation of District computerized data base systems to assure integrity of computer systems.
Coordinates and provides liaison assistance to user agencies as their needs relate to CAD and MDT connections as well as the RMS user group.
Installs and assists users with third party software Oracle Windows WindowsNT WindowsXP UNIX Informix etc.
and with third party application systems and integration with other systems.
Assists in the development of technical policies and procedures.
Designs and implements Web pages and associated software.
Stays current in the field by consulting with outside vendors concerning software and hardware problems.
Reads trade journals and advises users accordingly.
Studies and develops proficiency with new software as required to assist users.
Manages computer programs to minimize operating expenses.
Determines requirements for replacement parts or components and requests replacements be requisitioned and budgeted.
Serves on committees affecting the delivery of computerized communications services as appointed by the Director.
Performs related duties as required.
Required education training and experience A.
Education Graduation from a college or university with a Bachelors Degree in computer science or other closely related field with extensive course work in computer applications AND B.
Experience Four years of employment in network administration with experience with computer programming.
OR An equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required knowledge skills and abilities Knowledge Thorough knowledge of electronic computer programming and analysis thorough knowledge of concepts of systems technology thorough knowledge of analysis and design techniques and quantitative methods thorough knowledge of data processing equipment thorough knowledge of public relations techniques thorough knowledge of technical report writing thorough knowledge of the compilation and analysis of statistical fiscal and related data thorough knowledge of UNIX MICROSOFT OFFICE WORD AND EXCEL WINDOWS WINDOWS NT WINDOWS XP VISUAL BASIC HTML programs thorough knowledge of online teleprocessing programming methodology.

Must have no criminal background or record.
Position generally requires a Monday through Friday daytime hour commitment with most holidays off.
Position does require some flexibility and adaptation to irregular schedules including evenings weekends and holidays adjustment of shifts overtime breaks etc.
may be required on short notice.
Requires flexibility in providing oncall status involving weekends and various hours.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
