Job Description
GWI Steel is a structural steel fabrication company in Ogden, Utah; seeking qualified Fitter/Welders experienced in layout, fitting, and welding of columns, beams, and other steel products. We are looking for highly motivated individuals who excel in their trade and can perform the following functions;
- Read and understand fabrication shop drawings
- Layout materials dimension-ally , assemble the parts and prep for welding
- Perform welding to the highest standards of AWS and customer requirements
- Finish the assembly per AESS or other standards as required
Responsibilities
Candidates must have all the required tools, clothing, and aptitude to assure a quality product for our customers. This includes knowledge of proper weld techniques and symbols, weld machine settings, torch and plasma cutting, grinding, and other skills as necessary.
Qualifications
Applicants must have 3 years' experience in the structural steel industry and successfully complete the following;
-Pass a G2 GMAW unlimited weld test
- A written shop drawing comprehension test
- Verification of a high school diploma or GED
- Verification of employment within the last 3 years with three job references
- Pass a pre-employment drug screen and E-verify

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
