Associate Athletics Director SWA Requisition Number SP Position Category Staff Campus Location Weber State University Ogden UT Hours Per Week Months Per Year Alternate Work Schedule Pay Grade E Salary Hourly Pay Rate FLSA Exempt Job SummaryBasic Function The Associate Athletics Director reports directly to the Athletics Director and assists them in oversight of the Department of Athletics with responsibility and accountability for effective day to day operations programming and administration of key departmental functions financial and budget management and personnel supervision and management.
This position also ensures that collaborative and constructive relationships are maintained with all university partners with an emphasis on academics compliance student support financial aid facilities and game day operations to ensure optimal outcomes for studentathletes athletic programs and the university at large.
Additionally the Associate Athletics Director works closely with the Athletics Director to enhance hisher ability to lead effectively and work with senior administration to develop strategic plans and goals as well as appropriately monitor and report progress on those goals.
This position requires extensive knowledge of NCAA Division I legislation and has overall responsibility for monitoring maintaining and further development of a comprehensive NCAA Division I Big Sky Conference and institutional compliance program.
This position is responsible for developing a positive working relationship with several units on campus including but not limited to the Faculty Athletic Representative Financial Aid Human Resources Admissions Registrar Legal Counsel Campus Police and Affirmative Action Equal Opportunity.
This position has direct oversight of the Assistant Athletic Director of StudentAthlete Support Services.
Therefore assisting that position in the ongoing evaluation and development of policies and procedures rules education initiatives and all monitoring and auditing systems specific to compliance evaluate and investigate information related to potential violations of NCAA and Big Sky Conference rules and report violations to appropriate entities.
This position will have direct oversight of studentathlete development and assist in coordinating programming and support services for over studentathletes in sports programs.
This position will be a member of the Athletics Directors senior staff and will supervise the compliance staff have oversight over the academic staff and have sport supervision.
Required Qualifications Bachelors degree required.
Five years of experience in athletics administration andor coaching is required preferably at a National Collegiate Athletic Association NCAA Division I level.
An understanding of NCAA approach to analysis and interpretation.
Preferred Qualifications Masters degree.
Demonstrated professional and effective communication skills both verbal and written.
Ability to communicate and work with a diverse set of constituencies including students studentathletes faculty staff boosters alumni and community members.
Understanding of and commitment to comply with NCAA rules and regulations.
Demonstrates a strong commitment to both athletic and academic excellence.
Demonstrated ability to effectively lead teaching coaching committee chair experience etc.
