Associate Director Office of Sponsored Projects Requisition Number SP Position Category Staff Campus Location Weber State University Ogden UT Hours Per Week Months Per Year Alternate Work Schedule Pay Grade E Salary Hourly Pay Rate FLSA Exempt Job SummaryBasic Function The primary purpose of this position is to lead and manage a research administration team to support the universitys strategic initiatives to grow research scholarship and creative activities across all disciplines.
This position must set goals for the research teams track goals and hold team members accountable.
As the associate director will be expected to identify barriers to increasing the submission of proposals and increasing the grant and contract awards.
The associate director will oversee the proposal development officers and postaward officers.
Required Qualifications Masters degree years of fulltime employment in research administration with of those years including management experience and must be a certified research administration CRA.
Preferred Qualifications Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Strong organizational skills.
Broad understanding of collegeuniversity research activities.
Ability to work both independently and in teams.
Must have experience in managing and leading teams in research administration with a track record of submitting and winning grants and contracts.
Be able to manage competing priorities under strict deadlines.
Ability to edit proposals website content and other documents.
Ability to develop and deliver presentations.
Strong computer skills.
Experience working with faculty and other researchers in a university or similar environment Experience in proposal development and proposal writing Experience in using funding databases such as COS Pivot Foundation Directory Online etc.
Demonstrated experience in developing and presenting workshops Experience analyzing Requests for Proposals and interacting with funding agency personnel Proficient with electronic grants management systems including FastLane Research.
