IT Service Desk Technician II Requisition Number SP Position Category Staff Campus Location Weber State University Ogden UT Hours Per Week Months Per Year Alternate Work Schedule Pay Grade N Salary Hourly Pay Rate FLSA NonExempt Job SummaryBasic Function Individual will act as a primary point of technical support contact for departments and divisions under direct purview and will prioritize document and actively resolve help and service requests.
This role will require collaboration with departmental representatives on technology challenges solutions and changes and indepth analysis of departmental technology needs including hardware longevity equipment oversight and inventory planning.
Individual will provide second level handson and remote support for campus resources in a variety of areas with tasks including but not limited to devising procedures to solve complex problems troubleshooting testing and implementing software troubleshooting and supporting Windows and Mac machines performing analysis of enterprise applications supporting mobile devices troubleshooting basic networking issues performing computer imaging setups backups etc.
setup and administration tasks on specialized and high risk systems and performing preventative maintenance.
Position will be assigned to project work related to IT Division and university initiatives including work on enterprise system changes system implementations indepth research and software and end user testing.
Individual will provide indepth analysis of technology needs and solutions for campus at large as needed.
Recommendations for solutions may be on an enterprise level.
Individual may be asked to assist with front line IT Service Desk technical support via phone call chat walkin email and other communication.
Will act as a lead and a mentor to hourly staff and to assist in evaluation of training technical competencies and general job performance on an asneeded basis and will assist in the creation and delivery of training and documentation.
Required Qualifications Associates degree or equivalent work experience.
year of experience troubleshooting technology equipment and computers in a full time position Experience using Microsoft Active Directory or other user account management systems Familiarity with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager or other system management software Experience supporting enterprise systems and software used at Weber State such as Google Apps for Education INB Argos reporting Microsoft Office Suite Windows Apple OSX etc.
