Career Counselor/Employment Advisor

Individual will be responsible for general career counseling as well as employment advising within the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences. Responsibilities will include providing individual career counseling, teaching classes and presenting seminars. Will also develop employer relations and job opportunities/internships for students and act as a liaison to faculty and administration within the college. Other responsibilities will include tracking student employment status and providing assistance for graduate/professional school applications.
Seeking applicants with ability to motivate, persuade and direct the behavior of the students and clients toward present and future goals. Excellent public relations and communication skills are required for working with employers and academic departments. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Work experience in the social sciences would be advantageous.
Master's degree in counseling or a related field and two to three years minimum experience in counseling, test interpretation, teaching career principles and communication or equivalent education plus experience required. Strong computer and data management skills are required.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
